True, true... but it's safer to hold spec stocks at the start of a bull market, which is where we seem to be now (particularly WA, with Gorgon round the corner) than it is at the end of one, when every taxi driver is talking about the market. As an illustration, just before the stock market crash of 1987 there wasn't a single stock priced under 10c, irrespective of how many shares a given company had on issue.
