Hi all,
Don't hold, never have but have a little to do with a company that has looked at buying AIM in the recent past.
Distance and transport of the concentrate is of course a big problem.
The largest problem as I see it from what others have told me is that Byrnecut has the right to be the mining contractor for life of mine. Also Byrnecut increased decline and I take it development size (more dirt/waste to haul) which was totally unneccesary. Versus if AIM had of taken time to train and organise local workforce overheads could have been 1/100th (at least) of the size ongoing.
No Co. in their right mind would have made the mining contractor choice that previous AIM management made. Huge decision that has and will continue to haunt the project for evermore.
Pity that.
Cheers.
