Fundies Loading Up

Cheers @TheAnalyst007 for posting this in the main discussion thread, though I figured it would be worth creating a thread for this article specifically. Clearly this is where the recent buying is coming from, and whilst not all the broker data is available for the past week, the broker data that is available shows that the buying has been coming from larger institutional investors, not retail.

I sense that this is just one of many funds that we will be hearing about entering EYE, particularly as this company appears on more and more radars. Indeed, the company is participating in TWO events focused on raising awareness amongst fundies and other large investors in both June and August. Even more, with all the news expected soon, combined with the likelihood of high revenue growth in the near term (by December 2023), we should also expect EYE to appear on radars for those reasons.

The price increase helps as well, many funds can’t invest yet as it is below their market cap mandate. This is likely why EYE has been flying under the radar for so long and hence is why it is so undervalued (fundies aren’t going to do research articles about stocks like this they can’t invest in). $50m was an important milestone, though $100m is the most important. We hit that and there should be a rush of institutions buying in.

Australian Ethical and Jencay Capital are currently the fundies with the largest positions, holding 20% and 10% respectively. They have been invested for many years and have been actively buying recently, on market and via the placement, clearly indicative of their high levels of confidence in this company and its management.

This new fund, Salter Brothers, is likely just one of many more. Fundies share ideas, so I wouldn’t be surprised if EYE is being discussed between fund managers over weekend drinks today and tomorrow prior to buying next week. Looking forward to seeing you all at 30c and above
