When the pay out which is paid out is above the 10 year average for any commodity then the receiving party is on very shaky ground, this is imho the basic mistake that MGC has made here even thought as a co-op they have to pay out that money each year, there should be a place for a price smoothing formula in its business model.
Raising farmer expectations and it is a two edged sword.
