Yes they maybe passing the hat around amongst themselves, but is it for the good of the company or is it to somewhat validate they are good guys and should remain on the board when they bring no real expertise (or anything for that matter) to the table???????

But why would they throw in $886k just to show they are the "good guys"?... doesn't make sense.

I admit there's no logic in this. Yet the top-up $$$ says too much to ignore it and to question why and to what end.
