DJ Norddeutsche: Funds Help Keep Copper Stable In Credit Crisis
LONDON (Dow Jones)--Copper prices have managed to remain stable throughout the credit crisis due to investment by funds and other investors, German copper producer and processor Norddeutsche Affinerie AG (NDA.XE) said Thursday.
Fundamental factors have also played a role in keeping copper above $8,000 a metric ton on the London Metal Exchange, the company said.
"Up to now the subprime crisis has not been overcome despite all the countermeasures taken, and continues to have repercussions for global economic development," the company said. "The copper price has as yet managed to be stable in this crisis."
