However Bethlehem was previously called APRTH = Ephrath (Genesis 35:19) or Ephratah (Micah5:2, if the Hebrew spellings/pronounciations and English transliterations can be trusted). But the name APRTH compares very closely with that of Greek Aphrodite (perhaps APRI DODI = Fruit of Love, hence DODAIM = mandrake = Love Fruit), which suggests that Jesus, like the son of Agxises, Ainias, who founded Rome and beloved David (DOD) who usurped Jerusalem, may also be billed as sons of Aphrodite. So whoever decided that Rachel (RXL) should die and be buried at Bethlehem was probably trying to anticipate if not confound the Hellenistic Greeks and their Roman successors who worshiped the goddess. (Genesis 30:14, Genesis 35:19)
