While the Bible maygenerally refer to bread as leavened (LXM or XMTz) or unleavened(MTz), it also refers to several types of leavened bread, such as theLXM which fell from heaven as manna (MN = manna = what is it?) andthe bread of display = showbread = shewbread (LXM PNIM = PONIM) whichconsisted of 12 specimens laid out in 2x6 rows (MERKT) every sabbathupon a table (SLXN) within the Jewish temple that only priests (KHN)were allowed to eat. Leviticus 24:5-9

Exodus 16:4 Then said theLORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven... (LXM MN HSMIM)

The earliest mention ofshewbread LXM PNIM in the Hebrew Bible is Exodus 25:30, while Mark2:26 provides the earliest New Testament mention of shewbread LXMPNIM.

Exodus 25:30 And thou shaltset upon the table shewbread (LXM PNIM) before me always.

Mark 2:26 How he went intothe house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did
eatthe shewbread LXM, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which
    were with him?

However, as many Biblesplace the book of Mathew before Mark, shewbread is also mentioned inMatthew.

Matthew 12:4 How he entered into the house of God, anddid eat the shewbread LXM, which was
not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?

    However before the exodus

Genesis 14:18 AndMelchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread LXM and wine IIN: andhe was the
priest of the most high God.
