There are programs written to achieve mathematical outcomes- buying at better than VWAP, creating chart patterns to lead chartists to a conclusion, affecting price movements to influence non market decisions. Maths is beautiful but is applied by stockbrokers, hedge funds and other bottom dwellers in environments that should not be allowed since it can be misleading to some market participants. NEVER trade without checking depth and course of trades, you may be fighting a computer with bottomless pockets.
