'Inequality kills hope': Bill Shorten sets out defining mission if he wins government
In a speech to be delivered Friday that will help define the political battlelines ahead of the next federal election - and which borrows from the populist message of progressive political leaders including Bernie Sanders in the US and Jeremy Corbyn in Britain - Mr Shorten will suggest greater intervention by government may be needed to fix inequality.
The Opposition Leader will tell the Melbourne Institute economic outlook conference that ahead of the next election, which will likely be held in the second half of 2018 or early 2019, Labor is prepared to "go to the too-hard basket in tax reform and re-examine the issues".
etc, etc, what great political figures he sees as the future!!
