Funtastic has announced the appointment of Stewart Downs as its new group general manager of toys and sporting.




Downs, who will officially join the company from February 1, was formerly joint national head of Mattel Australia.

“We are delighted to have Stewart joining the Funtastic team," said Funtastic MD, Tony Oates. “With more than

a decade’s experience in the toy industry he brings a set of skills to the business that will be invaluable.

“He led Mattel Australia to become one of the group’s most profitable subsidiaries while maintaining market leadership and

compounding annual sales growth.”

Following a promotion to Mattel GM Asia, Downs launched Mattel China and created consistent growth in existing Asian

markets including Korea, Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand.

After almost four years overseas he moved back to Australia to his most recent role as MD of the Clemenger Creative

Sales and Marketing Group companies
