Yes the potential profits appear to be huge and so are the costs.
The Congo permits were only obtained on the 31/12/2012 and Howlong walked away less than 2 months ago. So the assets have not been seriously on the market for too long.
Maybe some people need a bit longer than 2 months to do $5billion worth of due diligence in multiple countries? I could be wrong though, as I have not had the pleasure of spending $5 billion....... so it might be able to be done in 2 months?
