Envirosuite approved by The City of Jacksonville in Florida, USA
14 September 2021 - At Envirosuite, it's an honour when we get the chance to create a positive impact on communities with environmental intelligence. Today, we would like to announce that an odour study involving Envirosuite has been approved by The City of Jacksonville in Florida, USA.
For several years, residents in the Murray Hill area of the city have observed "noxious" odour potentially coming from a local industrial operation that manufactures fragrances. Residents claim this has lowered their property values and kept them trapped inside their homes. The ‘chemical-like' odour has been reported more than 700 times to the city between October 2020 and May 2021.
Odour is something that we cannot see and has always been difficult to measure. Investigating potential emissions sources are difficult with conventional methods and lack situational awareness. The Envirosuite platform’s real-time alerting, reporting and emissions modelling capabilities will be used help to pinpoint the source of the 'chemical-like' odour.
The year-long study will start in October and will involve around-the-clock monitoring using 11 of Envirosuite’s Enose odour monitoring devices. Each device will feed data into the Envirosuite platform from hydrogen sulphide, ammonia and volatile organic compounds in local areas of concern.Josh Gellers, from the Murray Hill Preservation Association highly regards our solution and quoted:
“I was really happy. This is something the community has been concerned about for years at this point. I'm very confident that we will eventually have the information that we need in order to identify the culprit and put an end to this issue.”Find out more about this story:
