This morning I took the time to read a quarterly report from our Financial Advisor. I think EVS shareholders & stakeholders may find the following opinions interesting.

" ESG (environmental, social, governance) principals and ratings are becoming a significant factor in companies’ ability to attract capital from investors and fund managers so the previous focus essentially only on long term cash flows and shareholder returns is certainly no longer the singular driver in capital markets.

Large companies are being forced to change how they do things to maintain support in a world where “social license” to operate is more and more relevant to how successful they will be. Ethical and ESG funds are becoming more common place for investors wanting to take significant positions on how their capital is invested.

We are often asked whether such funds are competitive. Much research has been done on this and the conclusions are mixed. Mathematical principals suggest any reduction in the investible universe available to investors has the chance to reduce the performance by potentially removing options that perform well. Having a bias towards companies that are well run however (maybe as evidenced through high ESG scores) can perhaps lead to higher levels of higher performance compared with a general index. The jury is very much still out on these questions ... .. "
