Glengarry buoyed by Maitland results

GLENGARRY Resources says latest assay results from a drill program indicate potential for an economic copper deposit at its Maitland copper-molybdenum prospect within its Greenvale project in North Queensland.

The resource evaluation drilling program comprised 68 reverse circulation, percussion drill holes for a total of 8520m and was finished on December 11.

Assay results have been received for 24 holes with best intersections including 30m at 3.9% from 28m, 46m at 1.79% from 42m, 49m at 2.05% from 63m, 50m at 1.39% from 89m, 38m at 2.08% from 102m, 49m at 1.5% from 123m and 35m at 2.09% from 220m.

"The results confirm the continuity of high-grade copper mineralisation in the main southern shoot at Maitland which contains the bulk of the potential resource," Glengarry said in a statement.

"The shoot remains open at depth with strong copper mineralisation observed down to 300 metres below the surface."

The company said no assays have yet been received for holes drilled into the smaller northern shoot at Maitland during the latest program.

Glengarry also intersected molybdenum mineralisation in the latest drilling program including 7m at 0.10% from 29m, 6m at 0.39% from 50m, 5m at 0.34% from 108m and 5m at 0.12% from 182m.

Assays for the remaining 44 holes are not expected until the end of this month. The resource estimation is expected to be finished prior to the end of March, and will only include data from drilling programs finished by Glengarry since August 2005.

Shares in Glengarry gained 0.5c to 12.5c in afternoon trade.
