just doing some research on the Mt Isa area. Here is some info I dug up.
World class Copper, Gold, Phosphate, Lead, Silver and Zinc mines are the economic backbone of the vast Northwest Region of Queensland. This mineral-rich area is known as the Carpentaria Minerals Province.
The Region is known to contain about 28% of the world's known lead and zinc reserves, 5% of the world's silver resources, 1.5% of the world's copper reserves and major phosphate and uranium deposits.
Xstrata has the Copper’s Black Star project, Ernest Henry, George Fisher Mine. all in the MT isa area.
Universal resources have the roseby copper project in the same area.
Cdu have the Las minerale and Rocklands projects in the area.
You also have Valhalla and SKal Unranium project. within the MT Isa area.
Dyl attained some land in the area as well.
All of these projects are located within the Mt Isa area. So we can infer that this area contains some quality resources.
