    Its a red herring! The matter is under appeal and the courts will decide whether the conviction that has been rendered is sound. Thats what would happen to any other Australian citizen and the process therefore must be allowed to take its course. We on chat sires and other pundits are just offering opinions and in no position to determine one way or the other. The judges will have the final say and I hope they come up with the best evidence based decision possible. If the conviction according to the judges that hear the appeal is found to be based on unsound reasons the appeal will succeed and Pell would presumably be acquitted. It the conviction is found to be soundly based according to the law then the conviction will stand.
