That this deal is the culmination of SIX (6) months of negotiation makes it more underwhelming, if anything.
One might have hoped for greater expression of commitment from a counterparty who was really keen than a mere free option to undertake more investigation.
Especially since, as you rightly point out, Clegene is certainly not without financial means(!)
PS. Yes, the Chanticleer article in the AFR is quite well-written and balanced, I thought.
The author's comments in relation to TEVA are especially illuminating.
