A moat? DurAVR can still compete against a future 3D valve. A 3D valve will still need to be inserted into a cage and sutures will still need to be used to anchor the valve into the cage.
The article mentions the cost benefits of 3D. DurAVR can be manufactured in 2 hours compared to 2 days for current valves.
Another benefit of 3D is moulding to mimic native valves. Hold on, doesn't DurAVR do the same?
