Welcome to the stock market. As Buffett once said, it often behaves like a "Drunken Psycho" and more so today with algorithms and quants using computers to outsmart everyone else. In my experience, after a big move (which CMP has already had), there is either a retrace or the market becomes lethargic on the stock. It's a bit like a wave - it can only go so far before it comes to rest on the beach. Time is needed to build the momentum again. The SP will then usually fall or just churn in a sideways action until the market makers decided conditions are right to make a move on it again. These conditions vary. Sometimes they want to buy in at a lower price and ride it up again. Other times, they will leave it alone for several days to meander and hopefully bore investors away, so their entry back into the stock goes undetected.
