BTW my assessment of what happened with that sell-off was that there was a single or few momentary trades where the Cu price registered at $2.50/lb. Who knows if it was a fat-finger error of what? It was enough to stampede the jittery. The Cu price went back up to the $3.50 or so range well within a day.

I do have a suspicion of what caused the panic. Apparently, someone stole quite a bit of copper from one of the Warehouses. A similar thing happened in Ni earlier in the year when they discovered bags of rocks where they should have been bags of nickel.

Anyway, there is a very old stock market saying "In times crisis, shares pass from weak hands to strong". At my old work, they used to call me "The Guru" because I kept repeating aphorisms like that. Probably a tongue-in-cheek internal joke but I didn't mind it meant my head was in the game.
