Network gaming boom follows upward trend in home entertainment
Microsoft's broadband gaming network Xbox Live (www.xbox.com) launched in Australia on Wednesday the 8th of October much to the delight of gaming enthusiasts nation wide. With twenty game titles available now and a further fifty promised by Christmas, Microsoft boasts that the Xbox is the sole platform designed specifically for the networked gaming experience. Sony, manufacturers of Xbox's major competitor, the Playstation 2, have announced a date for their own service to begin on October 17.
