If GBG has around 30 million shares shorted then it could simply be the IBs doing it and waiting for another cap raising for the FOREX shortfall which will cover their short position at a handsome profit. Its criminal this sort of behaviour is allowed, but it is.

Same thing happened during the rights issue in 2011. GBG was the 7th most shorted stock just prior to the rights issue. Surprise surprise.
