In the event that we are sitting on a substantial area, consisting of historic grades, I would be of the opinion that any form of takeover would require the bare minimum of at least 10x the market cap at the time of announcement. Therefore, if CHK can continue to climb in MC and market price, which includes a catalyst of grade results, we could be staring down a share price of 20-25c before a takeover is announced.
With this in mind, a market cap 10x that of 20-25c (250 Mil MC), a takeover bid could be in the vicinity of $1 per share (1 bil MC).
I believe that given the presence of not only BHP, but FMG, the negotiations will be far from simple and a takeover war could ensure a significantly competitive price comes our way.
