Today, it looks like adding batteries to older wind farms to turn them from intermittent price-takers into market-savvy peak price providers, while simultaneously picking up system stability dollars.
New wind farms need to be next generation monster turbines.
News of Cherry Tree beginning operations is welcome and further diversifies and strengthens IFN's output. It has plenty of capacity to firm more variable production and fresh PPA's are needed.
Meanwhile, IFN is enjoying solid cashflows. In the absence of new investment the money goes to debt reduction. I would prefer more kit.
