I don't get it: if u think gold is just another commodity and not money y do you have shares in GOA and not Commonwealth Bank _ after all that's where the paper money is, or more accurately that's where many dodgy home loans reside.
Just ask any Greek (now), Zimbabawian (90s), Argentinian (80s) what they they would prefer _ paper money or gold. No contest.
Gold as miners can attest is rare, difficult to find and difficult to produce.
By contrast, come up with a half plausible story and a phone call to Paul Bernake or our own Reserve Bank boss, whose name i can't recall, despite being on a million dollar salary, and your wish may just be granted, depending of course, on your place in the political pecking order. Try that strategy with gold.
