I know the ‘starting a new thread police’ will be frantically typing very soon, but I was hoping for some serious debate to ensue regarding the possible JV with POSCO.
Given the lead time in bringing a new hydroxide plant into production I would have thought an JV announcement would have been with us already !!
While we wait, many others are biting the bullet and moving ahead with plans to develop this downstream capability, which is in my mind giving the competition a head start on us. As lithium pricing improves and more greenfield mines get off the ground I imagine much more competition for PLS
in 4-5 years time.
I just want to see some tangible progress in regards to developing a downstream processing capability. A JV would be my preference given the expertise and market
exposure/base that POSCO have.
So, what is the hold up ??
Is this likely to happen ??
If so , any predictions on when ?
