With all due respect that would be the last thing they would be doing. ASIC does not take kindly to those that are involved in the running of a company to participate in insider trading. On the contrary, if you see management buying heaps of stock at this point in time you are more likely not to see a good announcement for a period of time. Any serious negotiations that might be going on behind the scenes would bar anyone close to the company from buying shares. As it should be.
The risk of losing ones job or worse still going to jail are very real. Management teams know the rules, and therefore you very rarely see someone who has crossed the line.
