With all due respect that would be the last thing they would be doing. ASIC does not take kindly to those that are involved in the running of a company to participate in insider trading. On the contrary, if you see management buying heaps of stock at this point in time you are more likely not to see a good announcement for a period of time.
Any serious negotiations that might be going on behind the scenes would bar anyone close to the company from buying shares. As it should be.
