I must admit, PC has missed some marks with his failed timelines and minimalist marketing of company name and ambition. But he has also pulled off a few admirable achievements.
The most admirable is probably the expenditure reduction since the previous CEO. The current economic environment has already removed some graphite stocks from the market place, if it wasn’t for PCs reduction in expenditure, I don’t think volt would still be trading. He has agreed to take half of his income in shares, I appreciate this as a shareholder, not every man in his position would do this. It’s not as good as on market buying but it does mean that he must believe the share price will eventually move north.
Another encouraging achievement is the patent pending purification process.
From what I’ve read and heard, the process works well. PC is now proving this to partners.
If this goes to plan, it’s as big as Bunyu.
The only way to compete with Chinese prices is to reduce capex and running costs. If volt becomes the company with the patented process for the cheapest purification in the states. It could become the biggest name in natural graphite. And it could become responsible for purifying some of its competitors deposits.
It’s early days but there’s some nuance that should be considered by old holders. Volt is becoming an innovative chemical engineering business. The temu pressure cooker may one day be a graphite refinery built on 33 acres in the state of Alabama.
The Ukraine war has surprised me, I never believed it would last this long and I can recall some of you did. I don’t want to turn this thread into a raging political argument but do you guys still hold the same stance, that the war is far from ending?
