A happy, healthy and no doubt prosperous new year to all my fellow Volters. We finished 2021 with our Company in great health but our M/C certainly didn't reflect this. Given the solid foundations that have been laid especially over the course of last year, one could have reasonably expected a M/C much, much higher than where it finished. I've said before that I expected it to be around the 7-9 cps (conservatively I might add) given the progress and positive announcements during the preceding 12 months. However I have ditched the cheap Chinese crystal ball I was using so Nostradamus Walker senses 2022 will be a year that we head to being a market leader in the green energy space as Trevor has made this his mission and with the solid assets and alliances we now hold, I fail to see why not. Look at the heavy hitters we now have at Zavalievsky for example. These guys bring enormous value to the table and will be instrumental in the development of ZG now and into the future. Trevor has said on a number of occasions that we will be producing and selling LIB material sourced from our own currently producing graphite mine and processed in house by the end of this year. You can bet we will have offtake agreements of sorts well before that as there is evidence that the scramble is underway for battery manufacturers to lock in future supply for materials, especially graphite, which will be in shortage in time to come. I expect we will have a number of announcements during this current quarter and maybe the market will start to realise how undervalued we are and like others such as Possum have pointed out, this will be led by overseas investors.
Today being the first trading day of the new year on the ASX I look at RNU, up 17%, AVZ up 10% both of whom haven't turned a sod of earth now with market caps of 330m and 3 Billion respectively!! SYR is now heading back up to the magic billion dollar mark and will no doubt soar past that now that they're in bed with Tesla and PLS is now valued at 10B but they are a definite solid producing performer. I have no shares in any of these companies but my point is that this is the sector and market place that we are in with assets and potential to make these guys green with envy.
Once President Sleepy Joe gets Putin to pull his head in later this month and accept the small man syndrome he clearly suffers from, sovereign risk will be removed from Ukraine and this will be another headwind which will turn into a tailwind. We all know getting funding for Bunyu will be a massive boost as well. Could both these events occur in this current quarter? I'm sure the first one will, maybe throw in a decent offtake agreement and Bunyu may also become a reality. Sit tight Volters, 2022 will be a boomer.
