the bottom line is all the major players (cell and car makers) are set and have invested heavily in LIB manufacturing and materials sourcing. There will always be talk and articles around different battery technologies (solid state has been promoted for years but still is not proven to be economic or efficient at commercial scale). Things may evolve and change over time, but LIB technology and improvements will not stand still
