I have been investing semi serious for about 15 months now and have taken the time to learn as much of GT's history as is reasonable to consume. I was not aware of Regis transaction so tonight I looked at the 2009 Annual report which summarised the Regis transaction.
To me, the activities of Regis were not aligned with the companies strategic direction and was sucking cash from the business when the company was adversely affected by poor share holder sentiment. Divesting seemed a reasonable approach at the time.
Paul Macleman was appointed May 4, 2009 and the Regis actions were taken prior to him coming on board. Lets draw a line in the sand and move on.
Over the coming months and years, I have every intention of enjoying the rise and rise of Genetic Technologies.
