Hi plough. Thanks for your feedback and comments.
One of the problems we had the first time I was there was obtaining reliable data on standard brake maintenance costs.
They may have had some success through an alliance with a fleet operator since then. If not they definitely need to.
They need to come up with a strategy that says, 'OK our brakes cost $XX but they are maintenance free for X Years - over that time a standard brake purchase and maintenance would cost you double'.
Alternatively they need to set up an arrangement with a truck OEM to be fitted as original equipment - that would take a lot of product performance proving and networking to achieve though. It would eliminate the problem that no one would throw away a perfectly good standard disc brake to fit an alternate system.
