Hi Deidre.
Just went and listed some numbers of the top 200 to show how tightly held the shares are. Naturally one needs to compare names and numbers and I have done enough to see the same names appearing with very little in the way of variation in the number of shares. Naturally the correlation is not a perfect one but it is very close.
31/8/07 61.636% to 438000 shares held. This one is irregular as the list went to #205. Number 200 had 450000 shares. Only .002% separated #200 and #205.
27/11/07 62.149% to 470000 shares held
8/1/08 62.3985 to 473300 shares held
15/1/08 62.643% to 470000 shares held
12/2/08 62.640% to 482317 shares held
11/3/08 62.581% to 480000 shares held
18/3/08 62.509% to 480000 shares held
As I have posted before it appears as though only about 50million shares have been doing the merry-go-round with traders over the last 6 months or so.
The latest 200 list percentage shows only 2317 shares off its highest while between August and the latest, the top 200 have bought 42000 more shares.
