    Why don't they just get rid of this prolonged uncertainty - throw another .75% cut in there - it's the least they can do seeing as though the sub-prime stemmed from their wonderful ideas and management!! They still have room to play with the interest rate level in coming months if needed, but cautious is what they've been already in August, September, etc, etc - what a great message it would be in being aggressive as Bernanke said - the US is in a recession already according to experts - 1.5% cut in little more than a week, no better way out of it because this is global, not just them.

    Inflation can be curbed in coming months, topped with the stimulus bill being rapidly passed through the senate now - in an election year, the focus is on confidence - restore that the risks from interest rate cuts are much easier to manage through in coming months compared to the volatility and emotion we're currently seeing.
