Barrick expanded quickly and took on too much debt; went n a buying spree at the top of the market, buying equinox copper for $7.8bn in 2011 etc. They have now had a fire sale of assets around the world, including some great assets in Oz and are undoing their expansion. Some perceive the purchasers of the Barrick gold assets may have bought quite well. IMO DYOR etc
