It is worth noting that :
Investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS) clauses in some free trade deals (including Australia/Japan and Australia/EU) do not exist. In fact they are illegal in the EU.
The Albanese government was thinking of making them illegal completely back in 2022 (under pressure from the unions), although hasn’t followed through on this as yet.
The Thais are aware of all of this.
Again, I am just saying that this is a very risky play with the potential for unexpected outcomes. I suspect management is not giving us the full picture for various reasons.
