I guess I'm just saying exercise some caution and don't get caught up in the company's chemistry hype - it's written by PR teams and businesspeople, not chemists...
To be completely practical a topically administered opiate is nothing new, and in Australia will at least be 3rd to market... what will make one prescribe one over the other? In the U.S - marketing, kickbacks & cost - but it will be hard to convince prescribers to 'switch' drugs. In Australia - it's what's allowed under the PBS - a long, arduous process which already highly restricts the use of transdermal opiates
