Was interested in GBG last year because management and G Jones knew what they were doing and had the right people to do the jobs that matter. Due to work was unable to get into GBG - so decided to back his new co. SDL as a speccie. For your weekend reading enjoyment - hee ... abstracts from GBGs Project Definition Document for WA State Gov't Approval processes in highlighted below (I'd suppose these are public documents due to them going through State Gov't) -

Gindalbie is proposing to develop the Karara Iron Ore Project based on its mineral
deposits at Blue Hills in the Murchison Region of Western Australia, as shown in
    Figure 1.
The Karara Iron Ore Project will be divided into two separate projects: The Mungada
Ridge Hematite Project (Hematite Project) and the Karara Magnetite Project (Magnetite
Project). The Magnetite and Hematite projects are essentially independent. Either project
may proceed without the other, or the two could proceed concurrently. Some of the
minesite infrastructure could be shared by the two projects (e.g., airstrip, accommodation
    camp and water treatment facilities).
The Magnetite Project consists of mining, magnetite concentration, ore slurry
transportation via pipeline, pellet plant, transportation of pellets via rail to Geraldton Port
and export to international markets. The Magnetite Project may also include one or more
gas pipelines and gas-fired power plants.

The Hematite Project consists of hematite extraction, on-site crushing and screening,
and transportation via road and rail to Geraldton Port, from where it will be exported to
    international markets.
This document addresses only the Magnetite Project within the overall Karara Iron Ore
Project. The Hematite Project is subject to a separate assessment.
Gindalbie is investigating options to share infrastructure with other developers in the
region via the Geraldton Iron Ore Alliance.

The annual mining rate is expected to be approximately 40.5 million tonnes per annum
(Mtpa), with a stripping ratio of 0.5:1 waste to ore (13.5 Mtpa waste and 27 Mtpa ore).
The ore will be processed through a concentrator producing 10 Mtpa of magnetite
concentrate as slurry. Tailings will be produced at a rate of 17 Mtpa.
A 250 km long pipeline will be constructed to carry the slurry from the minesite to
Narngulu near Geraldton. At Narngulu, a portion of the slurry will be filtered and
processed to produce 4 Mtpa of iron ore pellets. The pellet product will be transported by
rail to the Geraldton Port, where it will be stockpiled prior to loading onto ships. The
remaining unprocessed slurry concentrate (4 Mtpa) will be pumped to Geraldton Port,
where it will be filtered and stockpiled prior to loading onto ships.
Exploration drilling to date has defined a reserve of approximately 270 million tonnes of
magnetite ore: equivalent to a 10-year mine life.
    1.3.5 Development Schedule
The Magnetite Project is scheduled to commence iron ore mining in November 2007 with
the first shipment of pellets in the first half of 2010.
    Schedule:
Mine planning and approvals June 2006 – October 2007
    Commence construction November 2007
    Commence mining November 2007
    Commence pellet production November 2009
Commence export from Geraldton Port May 2010
    Decommissioning and Rehabilitation Circa 2047
