Continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) has long been the only clinically-recognized treatment for obstructive sleep apnea, but in recent years oral appliances have been shown to be just as effective for and more easily tolerated by many patients. In January 2011, Medicare along with many private insurers even began reimbursements for oral appliances
