Well they had to get rid of Gaddafi because he wanted to change his currency to be backed by gold to compete with the Euro and Dollar. Its funny how all these middle eastern countries want to rise up out of poverty and when it happens they are beaten back down. Usually its USA and NATO forces going after "dictators" which after they are done bombing the absolute crap outta of them the "dictators" are overthrown and their secular governments are handed over to Islamists which turn their previous well-governed countries into sharia-law driven hellholes which sets them back two decades.
Perhaps after most of the Western world has drained all resources and oil from the middle east they will allow them their so called Western Democracy because by then no one can be afraid of a wolf without any teeth.
