FORTHCOMING DRILL PROGRAM, FERAL PROSPECT, MID WEST REGION, WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Red River Resources Limited (ASX: RVR “Red River”) is pleased to announce that it will shortly start its first drill program in E70/227, the Feral Prospect, in the Mid West Region of Western Australia. The company has identified zones totalling 10-12 kilometres in length which have strong potential to hold lenses of direct shipping grade hematite ore (DSO). These zones are characterised by lower magnetic intensity than flanking zones of more strongly magnetic and outcropping banded iron formation. The less magnetic target zones are believed to have suffered leaching of silica and breakdown of magnetite accompanied by precipitation of iron oxide. Similar areas elsewhere in the Mid West Region host DSO. The target zones at Feral are along strike from highly anomalous iron mineralisation associated with outcropping banded iron formation containing hematite/goethite mineralisation carrying up to 65% Fe. These outcropping zones are inferred to be outliers from bodies of better DSO development. Drilling should quickly confirm the exploration model.
Drilling is planned to start in late September. The initial program is designed to total 4,000 metres of drilling over about 80 holes, with the option to extend the program further by drilling till mid December. Successful discovery of DSO is likely to lead to rapid development of a mining project as the Feral Prospect area is only 10 -15 kilometres away from the rail head at Perenjori which, in turn, is about 200 kilometres from Geraldton or Oakajee.
Although the prime target for the forthcoming program is hematite ore, some of the planned drill holes may also provide valuable information regarding the magnetite prospectivity of the area.
