@M92, thanks for the tagging. I'm more a TA person (actually a ST trader who got caught in the CR and consolidation slapdown, and decided to stay in the trade rather than take the hit of stop-loss because I liked the fundamentals of GXY's business proposition), than a fundamentalist, and that's the reason I've tried to keep the GXY charts thread pure so I don't have to read all the fundamental chitchat.

However, being a wolf that's very long in the canines, I've watched big business machinations from close up (e.g. via parliamentary committee deliberations and peripheral involvement in national law and accounting firms), and know that the complexities of what mega global companies get involved in can be mind boggling, so nothing surprises me anymore. But I can't see GS having to liquidate the whole of its GXY position simply because it might be/is taking on an advisory role. If conflict of interest were probable (and it is always a problem in these big firms with their fingers in so many corporate pies), they'd use Chinese walls, otherwise they'd perpetually have to halve their work prospects!
