This happens a lot. The market is currently more geared for selling than buying, buying has been extremely weak considering, apart from the ASX 200 entry.
You have to also consider the millions that have sold off causing the momentum. So for example: if a stock has been sold down $100M in the last month, a $3M buy is not really going to raise SP much, mainly due to sentiment.
