Maybe it's just shorters shorting but not getting anywhere, realising it and covering. On the other hand, yesterday 80% were short sales, so hardly any covering. Maybe it's just that we're range-bound until new news. The volumes are too low for the manipulation you're suggesting, certainly when you subtract the volume shorted.
