There is a potential from DMS, however, this is usually only used to separate lighter gangue minerals. Spod SG is usually between 3.1 to 3.2 (Wills and Napier, 2005). Spod liberation must be high with larger particle size to minimize potential loss of lithium during the float process (Mining Engineering, Aug 2017). This method is not really usable where more dense gangue minerals are present.
