Galilee Basin Signifi cant tenement holders in the Galilee Basin include Arrow Energy Limited, Blue Energy Limited, Comet Ridge Limited, Galilee Energy Limited and Origin Energy Limited. The Galilee Basin was subject to a major exploration programme in the early 1990s by Enron Corporation. The inconclusive results of the Enron programme have been applied to subsequent exploration programmes. The Galilee Basin is only lightly explored, and unlike the Bowen and Surat basins, its distance from potential gas markets and gas pipeline infrastructure may leave any identifi ed gas resource as a stranded resource unless it is of signifi cant size. The major recent activity in the Galilee Basin has been undertaken by Galilee Energy Limited on the Rodney Creek and Crossmore structures, some 75 km northwest of Barcaldine. Preliminary analysis of the results of the recently drilled core hole at Rodney Creek indicates the potential for economically recoverable CSG.
