ATHENS, Greece – Energean is involved in the front-end engineering and design (FEED) for development of the Irena gas field in the Adriatic Sea.

If the project goes ahead, first gas could flow late in 2024.

In the northern Adriatic Sea, the jackup Key Manhattan recentlyspudded a side track from a development well on the Eni-operated Calipso gasfield platform (Energean 49%).

Offshore western Greece, pre-FEED has started for a carbon captureand storage project at the Prinos field, and funding for the Epsilon gas development should be finalized later this year.

As for Energean’s Karish gas field development offshore Israel,the FPSO Energean Power should depart the Singapore yard in 1Q 2022 and arrive at the field location around 35 days later. A three-month period of commissioning will then follow ahead of first gas.

Elsewhere in Israeli waters, the company expects the drillship Stena IceMAX tospud the Athena exploratory well on block 12 early next year.

Finally, the NEA/NI development offshore Egypt was 22.1% complete at the end of September, and first gas should flow from one well in the second half of 2022, with the remaining three wells set to come online early in 2023.
