"Independent NSW MP Alex Greenwich has pushed for poker machine gaming rooms to close on Anzac Day, as the premier defended his decision to back the "tradition".
"It follows the state government's decision last month to ban full-day retail trade on the date, with the exemption of "essential" service providers like hotels, clubs, pharmacies and corner stores.
"In a proposed amendment to retail trading legislation last week, Mr Greenwich called for restrictions on gaming machines in drinking establishments on April 25 with the exception of two-up, which is played three times a year in NSW.
